EVENT DETAILS

Starting at 9.30am at Charlton Park, Charlton Road, Nr Malmesbury, SN16 9DG (B4040) by kind permission of Lord & Lady Suffolk.

There will be 2 routes of approximately 6 miles and 10 miles. The ride will take place over a mix of estate land, private farmland, public rights of way and small section of road work. No jumps. The general character of the ride tends to be a little more relaxed than the big jumping rides, but there will always be some who take it faster than others! All riders will be awarded a rosette.

Postcode for Estate is SN16 9DG, but don’t let your Satnav lure you into the main part of the Estate!

Ride begins and ends from B4040 entrance to Charlton Park (0.5 miles west of Charlton Village). Will be signposted.

Toilets will be available on site. St John will be on site. Cake & Tea will be available for a small cost.

A map and emergency contact details will be handed out at the start along with your numbers

We will not accept bookings on the day.  Start times will be allocated. Entries close 21st June at 8pm. You will be emailed / telephoned after that date with your allocated start time slot.

RULES OF THE RIDE:
1. Riding hats or crash helmets must be worn and body protectors are strongly recommended.
2. Horses and ponies must be at least 4-years-old. NWSC asks riders to ensure that their horses are fully vaccinated.
3. Children 12 and under must be escorted by an adult please.
4. The course must be ridden in pairs or in groups (the size of group is dependent on any current COVID regulations). Individuals wishing to join a suitable group should consult the starter.
5. Riders must not deviate from the marked course. Any wishing to drop out on route should leave the course by well-defined paths or roads and let marshals and organisers know asap (emergency contact numbers will be handed out with your number at the start).
6. The ride may be ridden at any safe pace. Please be courteous to other riders when over-taking.
7. In the event of cancellation the entry fee will be refunded minus £4.00 per entry for administration costs.
8. The organisers decision on any matter shall be final.
9. DOGS WELCOME BUT TO BE KEPT ON LEADS AT ALL TIMES PLEASE. The North Wilts Saddle Club, the Owners of the property, the organisers, all persons and all organisations involved in this ride disclaim all liability for damage to any person or property, that may happen from any cause or circumstance, or for any legal proceedings arising. All participants and other interested persons are responsible for making their own insurance arrangements. By entering the ride you agree to the following disclaimer: I (We) wish to take part in the Charlton Park Pleasure Ride. I (We) agree to abide by the rules. I understand that the Organisers reserve the right to cancel or alter the advertised route and accept that the Organisers, volunteer’s or landowners will not accept liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or death to any horse, property, rider or any individual.
10. Please park where the marshal asks you to so we are in line with COVID requirements.
11. Abuse towards volunteers, organisers and marshals will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave.
12. Please bring back your number to the secretary at the end of the ride so we can tick you off our list so we know you are back safely and for you to collect your rosette.
13. Payment is at time of booking, if no payment has been received within 14 days of booking your name will be taken off the entry list.
