CLASSES
All Classes have Rosettes to 6th Place. The Perpetual NWSC Ossie Ward Trophies (Senior & Junior) will be awarded to the NWSC Member who has accumulated the most points over the day. Wessex Gold Riding Club (WGRC) will provide rosette to their highest placed member in each of the classes.
SHOWING RING: Start approx 10.00 am NB. The judge will not be riding.
Class 1- Open In Hand
Open to all ages and types. Special rosettes to the highest placed coloured, young stock, and veteran (over 15 years)
Class 2 – Ridden Natives / Traditionals
Open to mountain & moorland of all breeds (need not be registered) and traditional cob types. To be judged on conformation, type and display. To be shown in natural state. Special rosettes to highest placed coloured and veteran.
Class 3 – Riding Club Horse
Depending on entries, class may be split between horses and ponies. To be judged on manners and suitability to compete in riding club activities. Special rosettes given to highest placed coloured and veteran
Class 4 – Ridden Show Horse
Open to show cobs, hunters, riding horses and hacks. To be judged on conformation, type, and display. Special rosette to highest placed veteran.
Class 5 – Working Hunter Pony or Horse (jumps will be no bigger than 2’6”)
Depending on Entries, class may be split into 15hh or under, and Over 15hh
Advance Entry per class: £6 NWSC/WGRC Members, £8 Non-Members
On day Entry per class: £9 NWSC /WGRC Members, £11 Non members
DRESSAGE: Start 10.30 am
Class 6 – BD Intro A (2008)
Class 7 – Prelim 1 (2006)
Class 8 – Pick Your Own Test: Prelim 12 (2005) / Novice 28 (2008)
You may enter more than one test for Class 8, but it will be scored on a percentage basis with the highest mark winning. If you do the same test twice, only the highest score will count.
To be judged under British Dressage Rules.

Terms & Conditions of Entry for The Ossie Ward Horse & Pony Show 2017:
Important, Please read before entering
- The decision of the judges and stewards is final.
- Riders must wear crash hats with chin straps fastened at all times whilst mounted. This rule will be strictly enforced and any competitors who fail to comply will be excluded from ALL classes with no refund of entry money/monies.
- The closing date for dressage and showing entries is Monday 17th August 2015. Late entries will be taken subject to space being available, and will be subject to £5 surcharge.
- The committee give notice that overlapping of classes in different rings may occur and that if competitors enter classes being held at the same time, they do so at their own risk. However, the Secretary will assist competitors in this situation wherever possible.
- In the interest of safety, please walk horse and ponies when not competing. Areas for warming up will be provided. Any competitors found not complying with this rule may be asked to leave the show ground
- The right is reserved to cancel a class if there are insufficient entries.
- Dogs must be kept on leads.
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- No person or persons are to enter a test area whilst a test is running if they are not leading/competing in that class themselves unless instructed by either a judge, steward or organiser.
- Horses and ponies must be 4 yrs old and above, except in class 1.
- No claim can be entertained for loss, injury, damage to animal, property, person or vehicle in connection with, or arising out of this event. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the promoter and landowner against any legal action arising from such an incident
- By entering the show you are agreeing to the rules & conditions laid out in this schedule. Failure to comply with these rules & conditions may result in you being asked to leave the competition and show.
